At the "2025 Cambodia Global Textile Summit" held a few days ago, H.E. Sun Zhantuo, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and First Vice President of the Development Council, solemnly announced that Cambodia's textile export volume will successfully exceed 14 billion US dollars in 2024, achieving an average annual growth of 50%. This remarkable achievement marks that the textile industry has become the backbone driving Cambodia's economic development.

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the summit, Sun Zhantuo stressed that Cambodia's textile industry has successfully transformed and upgraded from a traditional labor-intensive industry, becoming the country's "economic card" and the pillar industry of the national economy. On behalf of Prime Minister Hon Manet, he would like to extend a sincere welcome to all guests attending this summit, and express his heartfelt thanks to the international industry leaders and innovators who came from afar.

In his keynote speech, H.E. Xing Suo, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training of Cambodia, pointed out that Cambodia, as an important textile supplier in the European and American markets, is actively enhancing the resilience of the textile industry by improving labor standards, strengthening environmental management and promoting circular economy practices. He stressed that "in the critical period when Cambodia is about to leave the least developed country status, this summit will provide important strategic guidance for industrial transformation and upgrading."

It is reported that the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia has formulated and introduced a series of policies and measures aimed at comprehensively supporting the sustainable development of the textile industry according to the instructions of Prime Minister Hung Manai.
