CCTV'S Dialogue Focuses On Trade War, And China Textile Federation Actively Promotes Enterprises To Take The Parallel Route Of International Market And Domestic Market
On April 15 local time, the White House website released a "fact list" for Article 232, which mentioned that "China is now facing tariffs of up to 245% on products imported into the United States".
Since April, the US government has abused tariffs on China and major global trading partners in the name of the so-called "reciprocal tariffs", causing huge waves in the global market. President Trump of the United States signed two executive orders on the so-called "reciprocal tariffs" at the White House, announcing that the United States would set a 10% "minimum benchmark tariff" for its trading partners and impose higher tariffs on some trading partners. On April 8, the US side increased the so-called "equivalent tariff" of 34% of the previously announced products imported from China to the US, and further increased it by 50% to 84%. Then it announced that it would impose an additional 50% tariff on China, making Trump's new tariff rate on all Chinese goods in his second term of office reach 104%. On April 9, Trump suddenly announced to raise the tariff on Chinese goods from the original 104% to 125%. On April 15 local time, China's goods exported to the United States now face tariffs of up to 245%.
What kind of shock will this tariff measure, which has the strongest impact on the global economic and trade pattern and the widest coverage in the past century, bring to the global economy? How can the affected businesses break through? Where will the future world trade pattern go?
Today, the Dialogue invited authoritative experts and first-line practitioners in the enterprise industry to focus on major changes in the international trade pattern and decode the industrial breakthrough code in the game of big powers.

They are:
Zhao Zhongxiu President of University of International Business and Economics
Yao Yang Boya Distinguished Professor of Peking University
Ju Jiandong, Chair Professor, Wudaokou School of Finance, Tsinghua University
Shi Yonghong Vice President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products
Wang Maochun Vice President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products
Liu Xin Director of Industry Department of China Textile Industry Federation
The tariff war is escalating again!
Challenge the global multilateral trading system

Zhao Zhongxiu President of University of International Business and Economics
Zhao Zhongxiu: The tariff war initiated by the United States dazzled everyone. In fact, it has challenged the bottom line of the world, and the global multilateral trading system promoted in the past 80 years has been greatly challenged. The so-called "equivalent tariff" of the United States is deceptive, neither equal nor just. The United States has broken the multilateral system it has personally promoted and challenged the world. Plus, it blackmailed a high price and forced you to talk to it.

Yao Yang Boya Distinguished Professor of Peking University
Yao Yang: When the Trump government added 50% (tariff) for the first time, they may still have calculated and considered it, but when it added it for the second time, they actually did not consider it. In fact, the U.S. trade negotiator was sitting at the inquiry table of the Congress, and the congressman asked him, "Do you know that the government has increased tariffs again?" He said that I only saw it on my mobile phone, so it was totally a temporary initiative. Its calculation formula has a very important assumption that it is impossible to let other countries' exports decline and then their own exports remain unchanged. Because other countries will oppose each other, including China, Canada, Mexico and the European Union. The final result may be that America's exports decline faster than other countries', which cannot offset its trade deficit.

Ju Jiandong, Chair Professor, Wudaokou School of Finance, Tsinghua University
Ju Jiandong: We call it "tariff war". The tariff war is similar to the war. The front part is covered by the artillery of both sides. The real battlefield charge has not yet started. The 90 day negotiation period begins now, and the multilateral trading system formed after 1945 will end on April 2, 2025. Now the United States needs to rebuild a trading system. Therefore, the future is a tough negotiation process, a tough process of encirclement and counter encirclement. Whether we can break out of its encirclement depends on our hard work in the next 90 days.
Where does China's industrial concentration come from?
Diversified sea going and domestic demand market

Shi Yonghong Vice President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products
Shi Yonghong: This year, the Chamber of Commerce will hold more than 150 exhibitions in 36 countries. We call it "Help our member enterprises and help our electromechanical enterprises develop diversified markets". China has more than 100 economic and trade cooperation zones in 46 countries, including Southeast Asia, South America and Africa. One is investment, the other is trade diversification. In addition, we help enterprises with special difficulties to explore the domestic market, and the Ministry of Commerce has organized six chambers of commerce to visit China for foreign trade products. The export of foreign trade enterprises is blocked, and those that can adapt to domestic sales are transferred to China.

Wang Maochun Vice President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products
Wang Maochun: Now there are two hot spots in the pharmaceutical industry, innovation and going to sea. In order to serve enterprises going to sea, we have set up an international cooperation platform, and successively established the China Central and Eastern European Countries Public Health Industry Alliance, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Traditional Medicine Industry Alliance and the China Central Asia Health Industry Alliance. In recent years, another hot spot in the pharmaceutical field is to participate in international public procurement. We will connect relevant United Nations agencies and international medical and health institutions with Chinese pharmaceutical enterprises. There are several effective modes to cope with the impact of this "equal tariff" on enterprises. One is to prepare goods in advance, and make full preparations from the initial raw materials, parts and products to the later warehousing, transportation and after-sales services. The second is to raise the price of competitive products in the United States and pass on the cost to the purchaser. There are also overseas localized production, export products for domestic sales, and deep bundling with foreign partners.

Liu Xin Director of Industry Department of China Textile Industry Federation
Liu Xin: The textile industry was involved in the Sino US trade friction storm earlier. Our federation has been actively building a platform for enterprises through many exhibitions in the past years. The development of diversified markets has always been practiced by our industry. We also attach great importance to the domestic market, which is the ballast stone of our industry. Many enterprises have seen our large-scale market advantages and market prospects. Enterprises actively follow the market route of parallel international and domestic markets. Through overseas investment layout, the synergy efficiency of the whole domestic and foreign industrial chain and supply chain has been strengthened. Further consolidate and strengthen the leading edge of the textile industry chain in the international market.
